Sergei Guriev is prominent Russian scholar and economist. He served as a Dean of the Moscow based New Economic School until he had to go into self-exile in 2013 .
Currently Professor Guriev is a provost of the Paris based University Science Po.
He authored hundreds of publications in the leading international journals. including American Economic Review.
He is a co-author ( along with Daniel Treisman) of a recent highly acclaimed book, Spin Dictators. The Changing Face of Tyranny in the 21 century (Princeton University Press, 2022).
Guriev is a fierce critique of Putin's domestic and foreign policies.
